MAGGIE FORGERON                             Registered Social Service Worker

I believe healing begins when every part of ourselves has the opportunity to belong. Many people come to therapy understanding their struggles intellectually yet continue to feel disconnected, caught in familiar patterns or unsure how to move forward. Together, we create space to slow down, listen differently and reconnect with the wisdom of the body, imagination and lived experience.

My work is grounded in expressive arts therapy, somatic practice and trauma-informed care. I integrate conversation with movement, creative expression, mindfulness and body awareness, adapting the process to each person’s unique needs, pace and comfort. I understand mental health as involving the whole person—not just the mind—and recognize that our biological, emotional, social, relational and spiritual experiences all shape who we are.

I support people who are seeking greater connection with themselves, their emotions, creativity, relationships and sense of purpose. This work may be especially supportive for those who feel stuck in recurring patterns, disconnected from their bodies or aware that insight alone has not created the change they are hoping for.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a professional dancer with The National Ballet of Canada, Ballet British Columbia and Kevin O’Day Ballett Nationaltheater Mannheim. My experiences in movement continue to inform how I understand embodiment, resilience, creativity and transformation.

I completed training in Social Service Work at George Brown Polytechnic and Expressive Arts Therapy, with additional training in trauma-informed practice with Dr. Gabor Maté (Compassionate Inquiry), Kripalu Yoga and the Tamalpa Life/Art Process®. I am a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

I work with adults in person and virtually.
